Zelenskyy admits we are running dry on ballistic interceptors

Original version ·

The reality of our air defense situation is finally out in the open and it’s not exactly a confidence booster.

So Zelenskyy just dropped a reality check: sometimes, we simply run out of missiles to stop incoming ballistics. It is not even a secret anymore, just a brutal fact of the current grind.

To fix this, the authorities launched a new initiative called Freya. The plan is to coordinate politics, industry, and the government to actually start cranking these things out ourselves. The goal is to move from relying on sporadic shipments to having a massive, homegrown supply of anti-ballistic systems.

The strategy involves teaming up with European manufacturers to get the missing critical components. Apparently, we have the shells, but we are missing the brains and guts to finish the job. If this works, it might turn into a massive industry that keeps all of Europe covered eventually.

A dependency on foreign gifts is being traded for a DIY defense startup.
