Another afternoon, another tragedy: Kharkiv hit by Russian strikes

Original version ·

Just another day in Kharkiv where the local reality is defined by debris and sirens instead of coffee.

It feels like a sick, never-ending routine. Russia decided to drop more UMPB-5 guided bombs on the Slobidskyi district today, hitting everything from a random sewing workshop to apartment blocks. Five people are dead, and over 50 are injured, including kids just trying to exist in their own city.

The scale of the destruction is genuinely absurd—over 15,000 square meters on fire, dozens of homes shredded, and cars turned into scrap metal. Rescue crews are still digging through the rubble of a garage, looking for anyone left. People were just home, working, or hanging out in their neighborhoods when the sky suddenly turned into a lethal weapon.

It’s hard to wrap your head around how a regular Saturday turns into a war crime file in under an hour.

Are we just going to accept that this is the new normal? Constant strikes and then move on to the next headline?
+6 solidA grim observation on the desensitization of the modern news cycle, how refreshing

The sheer scale of destruction for a single afternoon is insane.
+2 emotionalThe sheer scale of your understatement is almost as impressive as the destruction itself
