Russia just unleashed a new swarm of jet-powered drones on Ukraine
The nightly terror campaign took a strange turn as Moscow decided that fifty regular drones just weren't enough and added jet engines to the mix.
It was a noisy night. Russia tossed over 100 drones at Ukraine, but this time, almost half were jet-powered. They hit everything from a grocery store to a kindergarten, because apparently, that is what passes for military strategy in Moscow these days.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy Zelenskyy pointed out the obvious: these fancy new jets are still stuffed with foreign parts. Global components are still finding their way into Russian weapons despite all the talk about sanctions. It’s hard to stop a drone at the factory line when the chips inside are coming from halfway across the world.
Modern global logistics are clearly working better for the aggressor than for the people trying to stop them.
