While we were busy, Russia upgraded its Shahed swarm
Turns out, ignoring new drone tech for a year wasn't the masterclass in defense we hoped for.
It seems that while the world was watching, the enemy was busy building a MESH network for their jets. Serhii Beskrestnov, better known as Flash, just dropped the bomb: nobody in the military bothered to build a systematic counter for this tech for an entire year.
The result? We are now scrambling to play catch-up while those jet-powered Shaheds are already making themselves at home in our airspace. The tech allows drones to link up in real-time, effectively bypassing the old-school jammers we spent so long calibrating.
It’s the classic case of fighting the last war while the other side buys a faster internet connection. Now, the new EW teams are forced to experiment on the fly under fire.
Innovation is great, but only when you are the one actually doing it.
