Trump might actually back Graham's anti-Russia sanctions

Original version ·

Things in Washington are getting weird enough to make the history books stop and stare.

So, the latest buzz out of CNN is that Donald Trump is apparently ready to sign off on a massive anti-Russia sanctions package. The kicker? It was the pet project of the late Lindsey Graham.

The plan is to hit countries buying Russian oil, gas, or uranium with some pretty heavy tariffs. John Thune, the Senate majority leader, says the White House was working hand-in-hand with Graham right up until he passed away. It’s basically an attempt to turn a late senator’s final legislative push into his actual legacy.

Politics has a funny way of making unlikely bedfellows out of everyone involved.
