Ukraine just dropped a cool ₴333 billion on drones in six months
It turns out the military is shopping for drones like it’s Black Friday, and the scale is honestly kind of wild.
So, the Ministry of Defense just reported that they’ve locked in ₴333 billion for drones in just half a year. That’s double what they spent this time last year. They’re basically letting units pick their own gear through a digital marketplace called DOT-Chain, which means the stuff actually gets to the front in about nine days.
They’ve stopped playing guessing games and started using real field data from systems like DELTA and Brave1 to decide what to buy. They are only paying for the drones that actually hit targets and survive the chaos of the frontline. If a model doesn't work, it doesn't get bought. It’s simple, ruthless, and surprisingly efficient.
It’s nice to see that the bureaucracy is finally figuring out that soldiers know what they need better than some office worker in a suit.
